This past week marked a very speacial day for my family.
We were celebrating a birthday for the best Grandmother in the world.
June 15 she had 90 candles on her cake.
All the family got together at Ryans for a party.

Here's Uncle Gene and Granny

Memories ... I visit Memory Lane quite often. And when I do I very often go back to when we lived with Granny on the family farm. I would be sitting in the window watching for Granny to get home from work. When I would see the car I would tear across there. My little hand would reach up for hers and I would say, " Mamaw, did ya bring me something?" And without waiting for her answer (I knew she had) I would stick my hand in her pocket to find my quarter.
I remember the pretty red Christmas dress she made me. I asked her to make a twirling dress with jingle bells to jingle when I jumped.
I still remember trying that dress on and how happy and proud I was. I hope that I can be as good of a Granny to my grandkids as my Granny was to me and my brothers.
I am sorry, Granny, I could be there for your party. Happy Birthday! I love you! I'll see you in a couple of weeks.
