The Power of God

The rain has finally brought out the flowers and the grass is growing wildly. I realy enjoy my day of mowing because I just get on that mower and ride. I sing at the top of my lungs until I get a little hoarse and then I just talk to God. There is a song that says "God loves to talk to boys when they're fishin'"... Well I think God loves to talk to mom's while they're mowin'. (lol)
I was out mowing and singing on Tuesday and God just came and sat on the mower with me. I was asking Him to send us some kids to VBS who are hungry for something they don't have at home. God just came to me in such a special way that I got a bit tickled later when I thought about it. Here I was out on a mower going around in circles, with God right there beside me, cars driving past me, and I'm just bawling and praying out loud. As the cars went by I waved real big; but just kept right on praying. ( That's one thing about having kids, you can pray while you're doing all kinds of stuff and not even miss a beat. Dad's can't do that so well. ) And as I thought about it later the people that went by with their windows down probably thought I was a "religious nut." the people went by with their windows up probably thought I going through a terrible tragedy. But I was glad to be a story of a "relgious nut" that somebody saw today.
This week at VBS we are "going fishing" all week long. The first day the lesson was about the power of God. The stories were about God showing His awesome power in ways that was totally unexpected . I just want to thank God for the unexpected things that He does for us.

Carrie, you're the kind of religious nut that I like.
I'm blessed to have your family as friends.
