The night started very normal... we were having pizza with the pastor's family. The pastor's girls got new fishing poles and were anxious to try them out. Troy invited them over to the house for supper and them they'd take the kids out fishing down the road. So while the Dad's were getting ready the kids were out playing around the farm. Sis. Ward and I were here in the house looking at pictures when I heard someone come in the house. I heard them go to the bathroom and turn the water on. The water kept running so I hollered, "who is in the bathroom?" Michael answered and I tol him that was enough water. That's when the truth came out. He said he'd cut himself and came in to show me. We took a look and knew he'd need stitches. So everyone went fishing and Sis. Ward and I took Michael to the ER. He was pretty freaked out; but I managed to talk him through the process and this was the result. Something to be proud of. As we went through the drive - thru Michael is yelling over me to "Tell them I have stitches!!!"

This is what it looked like. It was hard to believe that you could fit 8 stitches in a cut that small on a thumb that little. I guess being on the knuckle like that they just did it good. Which is just as well... this is Michael we're talking about here!
It was a long awaited moment when the stitches finally came out. It was a fight to just to keep it sanitary. I tried to keep it clean and germ free; but finally settled for sanitary. I am hoping that Michael learned a lesson about playing on things Mom says to stay off of.
